- Clinic for Hardware and Software Problems
- Is your computer acting up? Jim Dinkey maintains a clinic in his home that is available to SPAUG members, usually Saturday morning between 9 and 11, by prior arrangement only.
What is the Clinic? When things go badly with your computer, the Clinic provides for a refuge to have someone look at the computer for you. To this end, by appointment, you bring the main box, plug it into the waiting monitor, mouse and keyboard, and utilize the skills and knowledge of the SPAUG President and other volunteers. A small inventory of likely parts is maintained to avoid trips to the local parts store. Older machines can be donated; they are stripped for parts and recycled.
Remember to bring all your documentation and installed software disks, and particularly your latest backup. This makes Jim's job vastly easier.
For non-SPAUG members, the cost to join SPAUG is $30. The Clinic provides a reliable, knowledgeable first-stop resource for when your computer is misbehaving, you don't know why, and cannot fix it yourself.
