... that's what it says in a Surplus Computers (1600 Duane Ave, Santa Clara) ad on their back of a cash register receipt I got at Mr. Chau's this evening (4/21/05). There's no mention of recycling on their website -- www.surpluscomputers.com/store/Main.aspx. Their phone (from the back-of-receipt ad) is 408-327-0420 x103. Fax is 408-327-0113. I haven't checked them out yet, other than visit their website.

Lamont Shadowens found Circuit City took a monitor for disposal and recycle for him.
Here's another suggestion: Green Citizen Electronics Recycling
A new business has sprung up on Palo Alto. It's called GreenCitizen and accepts unwanted computers (CRT's???) and monitors, printers, cell or regular phones, CDs and DVD', printer cartridges, and more. GreenCitizen forwards the items for recycling, but there is a charge for most items (they are a business, after all) while some are free.
Go to www.greencitizen.com for a full list of what they accept for disposal and recycle along with a price list and more information.
GreenCitizen is located at 3180 Park Boulevard, Palo Alto, CA 94306 (near Fry's) Phone 650.493.8700
Center Open Monday - Friday Noon- 7:00 PM; Saturdays 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Sundays 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
