"This agreement between NASA and Google will soon allow every American to experience a virtual flight over the surface of the moon or through the canyons of Mars," said NASA Administrator Michael Griffin at Headquarters in Washington. "This innovative combination of information technology and space science will make NASA's space exploration work accessible to everyone," added Griffin.

Got a slow PC? A full hard drive? Here's a Holiday Project
“After years of downloads, patches, and uninstalls, your Windows XP machine is likely running a bit slower than you'd like. The solution: Start fresh by reinstalling Windows. PC World will show you how.”
This is also a good way to cure many PC problems, as discussed by Jim Dinkey. At the same site, How to Install an Additional Hard Drive - Boost your PC's storage with a larger hard drive is also available.

Mary Ann Richardson explains in this tip that when concatenating date and text cell data in an Excel formula, you need to convert date cells to text to avoid undesired results. Instead of =H11&H12, you have to use =H11&TEXT(H12," mmmm d, yyyy") to get cell H11 to read {the text in cell H11} December 3, 2006 instead of {the text in cell H11} 39054. If you use Excel, read the whole tip, then investigate the previous tips archive for more. [N.B.—I've found that converting almost any numeric concatenation is necessary, to control the numeric format.]

How fast is your broadband connection? Are you getting what you pay for? Try the Intel@ Broadband Speed Test and see (at work I got 2.7 Mbps, not bad). You can also calculate how long it would take to download a file - for example, Hank's MP3 talk file, at 90 MB, would take almost 4 hours on a 56 Kbps dial-up modem, 8 minutes on a 512 Kbps Cable, and really quickly on my 2,700 Kbps work connection.

Here is a calendar that may fit your needs. It is called Sunbird and is a development project of Mozilla, the folks that brought us Firefox. So far it is only at 0.3, but it works and does quite a few things. It may not be 100% of what you want, but from what I can see, it does everything a calendar should accomplish *AND* it is free!

Google Calendar - If you have a work life, a home life, and a social life, you know the challenge of tracking all of it - and then there's coordinating with friends and family members too. The new Google Calendar can help.
You can create a calendar, share it with anyone you invite, and send event invitations right from your calendar. It's also integrated with Gmail so you can directly add events that are mentioned in your email messages. Perhaps most important, Google Calendar supports other popular calendar applications so you can easily import and export your scheduled info.
