Here's a fun way to browse the planet. PBase is a popular online photo gallery service with several trick features. Using data from the image file headers and user profiles, PBase makes its large photo database browseable by camera used to make the shot (of interest if you're in the market for a digicam), and by country where the photo was taken. The latter provides some real armchair travel gems, including architectural hotspots in Qatar, an elephant orgy in Botswana, some regular guy's hiking tour of LOTR locations in NZ, the Tel Aviv Love Parade (NSFW), a Polish air-show, and a Namibian Wedding. I'll see you all at cocktail hour in New Caledonia!

As we age, we need help remembering - here are some memory aids Monkey Nut Eating Means Old Nutshells In Carpet, aka mnemonics! They come in many forms, helping you remember
everything from taxonomic classifications ("King Phillip Came Over For Good Sex") to the order of the planets ("My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets") to musical staves to the first 31 decimal places of pi to how to spell tricky words such as "rhythm" or "principal." They're more a way of life for med students, birdwatchers, and boaters. Which mnemonics have helped you survive?

This is broken -- http://broken.typepad.com -- deserves a FunPages link. A new project to make businesses more aware of their customer experience, and how to fix it. Have you seen something that's broken? Send them a picture, with text explaining what's broken (mail link at bottom of page).

Visit the wonderful wacky World of Larry Carlson. The Flash Movies require a fast connection; move the mouse cursor around on the movie for extra effects.

An interesting game, with real-life applications. Mind-stimulating. There are are other games on the site, but I haven't tried them. Found on Metafilter.
Figure out how many of each bill or coin that you expect to get back when you pay for something. For example, if something costs $3.75 and you pay with a five dollar bill, you would expect back one quarter and one dollar bill.
If you get the answer correct, the amount of change is added to your piggy bank. If you get the answer wrong, the correct amount of change is subtracted from your piggy bank. The more money you get in your piggy bank, the harder the questions will get.

'Tis is to keep you in the Christmas Spirits. It's twisted, but fun - a selection from "White Trash Christmas". (You'll need to turn your sound on for this one.)
